FAKE ≠ FACT INFO LAB IN BELARUS (ONLINE)

In a cooperation between the Baltic Centre for Media Excellence, Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the Nordic Journalist Center and the Human Rights Academy, the “Fake ≠ Fact Info Lab” Educational Workshop took take place the 21st of December 2021

 

The experts of the day:

– Pavel Bukovsky, media expert, Belarus
– Evgeniya Khoroltseva, Human Rights Academy, Norway (Human Rights Academy)
– Leif Lonsmann, media expert, Denmark (Nordic Journalist Center)

 

Together with the participants they discussed and presented what disinformation, propaganda, conspiracy and fake news are. They considered the most striking examples of how the media present information about migrants, sanctions, and the authorities.

 

The focus for this Fake ≠ Fact Info Lab was on Belarus – Therefore, before mentioned focus centralized around what and how the Belarusian mass media write about current events, what are they silent about, how are journalistic standards violated, what information do Belarusians receive and how do the experts from the Nordic countries see it?
