Danish Minister for Culture at the Baltic Centre for Media Excellence

Friday the 7th of December, the Danish Minister for Culture Mette Bock visited the Baltic Centre for Media Excellence (BCME) in Riga together with Simon Drewsen Holmberg, director of DCI in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Here, she met Gunta Sloga, director of BCME, Konstantin Benyumov, special reporter at Meduza, Nellija Ločmele, editor in chief at www.ir.lv as well as Sanita Jemberga, editor and executive director at Re:Baltica.

The lively discussion centred on the conditions for local media in Latvia and especially the challenges of investigative journalism as well as of countering fake news and developing media literacy both in Latvia and Russia were debated.
