Valdemar’s day on the 15th of June in Tallinn

The Danish flag “Dannebrog” is the oldest flag in the World. The most famous legend about the Danish flag is – It came out of the sky in the year 1219 on the June 15, when the archbishop prayed to the sky near Lyndanisse now Tallinn and a miracle happened the Danish flag come down from the sky. Since that day 15th of June is celebrated as ‘’Valdemar’s day’’. Valdemar was King in Denmark from 1202-1248.
The Danish Culture Institute will host a concert by Philly Joes on the 15th of June in Tallinn in honor of ‘’Valdemar’s day’’ and the Danish flag ‘’Dannebrog’’. The concert by Philly Jones will be attended by the outgoing Danish ambassador to Estonia Mr. SØREN KELSTRUP who was the representative of the Kingdom of Denmark in Estonia for four years in Estonia. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark Mr. SØREN KELSTRUP was a big part of building up strong cultural and economic ties between the Kingdom of Denmark and Estonia as they are now.
