Danish And Latvian Artists Turning Ideas Into Soundart
As you read this, a group of Danish and Latvian artists is meeting in Odder (Denmark). The workshops will take place between the 20th – 25th February and the aim is to bring artists together. In collaboration, the artists will produce and design the national and international soundart with modern techniques and hopefully strengthening the Danish/Latvian collaborations in the field. Furthermore, the end goal is to do a concert in May 2017, at the music venue RADAR in Aarhus.
The artists are, Filip Jakobsen(Danish), Merlyn Silva(Danish), Olga Szymula(Danish), Toms Austrins(Latvian), Anna Kirse(Latvian) and Sabine Moore(Latvian). The musicians’ expression ranges from techno, electro-acoustic, trance, neo-classical, to avant-garde and drone. Together they will explore, challenge and re-think the concept of music venue.
The concert is part of a collaboration between the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the soundart venue Aristīds and RADAR. The idea has been initiated with the support of Aarhus 2017
