Moving Identities

Residency programme for performing artists across Europe
2023–2026 | Co-funded by Creative Europe
Moving Identities is a three-year international residency programme that supports performing artists in exploring themes of diversity, inclusion, and contemporary European identities. The programme is co-funded by Creative Europe and brings together a network of venues and organisations from Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and Latvia.
About the programme
Moving Identities offers a European network of residencies dedicated to nurturing artistic careers across borders in an inclusive and eco-conscious way. The focus is on supporting performing artists in developing new perspectives, building international networks, and engaging with different cultural contexts.
The residencies include:
- Artistic development opportunities in host venues across Europe
- Personalised mentorship in areas such as internationalisation, sustainable touring, audience engagement, and funding
- Exchange of best practices and shared solutions among artists and cultural organisations
Goals of Moving Identities
- Promote diversity within the European performing arts scene
- Encourage cultural exchange and dialogue between different European traditions
- Support artists’ international career development
- Explore and share sustainable practices for greener cultural mobility
The Danish Cultural Institute (DCI) serves as an advisory partner, contributing to the development of mentoring methods, sustainability strategies, and inclusive practices within the project. We also offer presentations and consultations in Riga for those interested in the programme or in broader Danish-Baltic cultural collaboration.
The programme runs from March 2023 to October 2026.
