    DANISH JAZZ IN LIEPĀJA

Last Sunday we had the pleasure to see 3xHess live and enjoy their radiant performance at Liepājas koncertzāle Lielais dzintars / Concert hall Great Amber.
Their understanding of music and each other allows them to create new arrangements by improvising on stage which accumulates into the special sound of 3xHess.

    ...

Thanks to the brothers and Liepaja Symphony Orchestra for this pleasant cooperation.

    HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!

On this special day the Director of The Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - Simon Drewsen Holmberg is sending an empowering message of the importance of women’s rights while sharing the happy statement that Denmark and Latvia is among the 6 countries where women and men have equal legal work rights!

    Simon writes:

"“Women are half of the world’s population and we have our role to play in creating a more prosperous world. But we won’t succeed in playing it if the laws are holding us back” Kristalina Georgieva, President of The World Bank.
The 8th of March is being celebrated here. International Women’s day. Thanks to the influence of my mother Jette Drewsen this day of the year has always been special to me and my family (and with two daughters and a granddaughter it is definitely something that will be celebrated in the future as well).

Around the world, in Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania there is still a lot to do for real equality, but now that we are in the party mood, it is good news that Denmark and Latvia, according to The World Bank’s new report, has come far, https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2019/mar/01/only-six-countries-in-the-world-give-women-and-men-equal-legal-rights?fbclid=IwAR2HVfm-_bmbdF9IEFa-ZKuZfM1kNXWsucLCw_QnMCv8VUVJhSQeykBSgPY

Tine` s work is a hybrid between music, spherical voice works, radio theatre, video installation and performance art, which is based on communication... and social relationships. DANISH JAZZ MUSICIANS IN LIEPĀJA

In cooperation with Danish Cultural Institute, 3 jazz musicians from Denmark will perform at Liepājas koncertzāle Lielais dzintars / Concert hall Great Amber on the 10th of March as a part of The 27th Liepāja International Stars Festival.

3 x Hess are 3 brothers that have been a part of the Danish and International jazz scene for many years. Their experience of playing together for most of their lives has created a special kind of musical understanding, as if reading each other from seemingly accidental gesture.

They play a repertoire of original music, written by the members of the band. Their jazz music with improvisation and different rhythmic and melodic building stones melts together in the special sound of 3 X Hess. The music can be described as Nordic jazz with elements of the Scandinavian song melodies.
